First Chadhiyana Review and Release Date

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

If you don’t follow me on social media (then you should be!), you probably missed two big announcements in the past couple of weeks. First and foremost, the first issue of my graphic novel series, Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, has been given the tentative release date of July 13, 2015 by Rosarium Publishing (pending no delays). As written in the past, the publisher opted to release the book digitally first in single issues. You’ll be able to find them on Comixology every other month (and–fingers crossed–Amazon?). I know it’s a bit of a wait, but really it’s just around the corner. That said, the book was also recently reviewed, for the first time, by Colored Books for Colored Folks. Honestly, if nothing I’ve said in the past has sold you on it, I think this review will.

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows issue 1 coverYou can read the review on their website (http://darkjeedai.blogspot.com/2015/05/chadhiyana-in-company-of-shadows.html). If you have read it, you can imagine I am very happy with it. For a first review of my first (published) major work, this kind of response was more than I could have hoped for. Thanks again to my publisher, Rosarium Publishing, for sending the book out to reviewers, and to CBCF for reviewing the book. I’m hoping to earn a few more reviews like this before issue one is released; however, if this is all I get, I’m very grateful for it.

Besides the review to whet your appetite (and the cover image to the left), you can also preview the book if you catch Rosarium Publishing at a convention. They have some printed copies of the first issue on hand (for promotion purposes only). I’m hoping to get a few from them myself, especially as Eternal Con is only two and a half weeks away. After all, the more people talking about the book before its release, the more people (I hope) will start reading the series in July (especially if they missed the year-long run of the first two chapters of series as a web-comic on chadhiyana.com).

Enjoy the review, and keep checking back here and on chadhiyana.com for more news and updates on Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows and the Chadhiyana series, in general.

Cheers!
