13 Days to Halloween

J. M. DeSantis - Blog Post

It’s officially thirteen days until Halloween, and though that means the holiday falls on a Monday this year (as this blog posts on Tuesdays), I plan to enjoy Halloween in every way possible. I have my usual stock of horror flicks, I always indulge in reading some horror fiction (though that’s not to say I reserve all horror-related reading and viewing for October exclusively), and hopefully I’ll get out to a haunted walkthrough or two. And in the spirit of the season I’m trying to make the latest of my horror-related art available through my online stores.

gcyr1_coverFirst, as I mentioned last week, I’m planning to make a special offer to my mailing list subscribers concerning the first collection of Gentleman Cthulhu comics (which sold out before the end of New York Comic Con) before it goes on sale through online distributors. So, if you’re looking to get your hands on a copy sooner than everyone else (and signed, no less), make sure you join my mailing list. Aside from this offer, I’m planning (going forward) to use the list for other updates and offers not posted in my blog or elsewhere.

Otherwise, I’m uploading some of my latest set of prints to my Zazzle store, both as prints and other related merchandise. Unfortunately, I’m still finding Zazzle has an inconsistent turnaround time for posting new products, but if you follow me on social media, I’ll be sure to post many of the latest there. Amongst the art included are all of the recently available small prints from Gentleman Cthulhu (gentlemancthulhu.com) including the title character, the mummy holding flowers, the vampyre about to bit a woman’s neck and the panel where he is drinking her blood from a straw. Also my latest rendition of Count Orlock (Nosferatu) will be available on various merchandise, along with the already extensive merchandise featuring my popular black and white Nosferatu piece. As I tell everyone who asks, I seem to be obsessed with drawing the character.

That said, though New York Comic Con is over and though I don’t have any other conventions planned until after the New Year, my commissions list is open. I can only take on so many commissions per week, but if you would like a commission (especially something Lovecraft or Nosferatu related in this spooky season), visit the Commissions Page for pricing and other information.

I suppose that’s all for this week. Plan to see me promoting my store(s), commissions and books a lot over the next few months, as I’m going to try something new for the Holiday Season this year. It’s sort of a new thing for me (and I’m not entirely comfortable with the idea, as yet), but I’ve heard it’s a great time to sell art (or anything, really). So, hopefully it won’t become unbearably obnoxious for you all, and I’ll try not to overdo it. You’ll still be able to find the same content here week after week. Though, if you are buying gifts for people or yourself in the coming months, consider checking out what I have to offer.

Until next week! Cheers!
