I’ve actually wanted to do this for a couple of months now. Though I still love both pieces featured in the former top banner, they’re both a little out of date. What’s more, the old banner listed my title as Writer-Illustrator, though, for some time now, I’ve referred to myself as a Write-ist (Writer-Artist). Sorry, folks. Things are just a little crazy this week. I didn’t have much in me for a proper blog entry. However, I noticed I hadn’t update my Fantasy Art page with Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows cover (my newest Chadhiyana project–a graphic novel–if you didn’t know). So, I added it. It’s one of my favourite paintings I’ve done to date. You can check out the art, again, on the Fantasy Art page. It’s been a while since I updated the writing section with new content. Not since early last year when, before my life became consumed with Chadhiyana, I had a few new short stories published in various anthologies from Static Movement and Norgus Press. Anyway, today it’s more Chadhiyana. I’ve been meaning to share the scripts from the first two Chadhiyana stories (A Saviour in the Dark and Chadhiyana and the Serpent—still available in the comic, Chadhiyana, on IndyPlanet.com). It’s been busy, to say the least, while I continue to work on my graphic novel, Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, and with other projects coming in (such as the book cover I alluded to last week). As it is, there’s a lot of new artwork I should be adding to my Art Galleries and perhaps an excerpt from the Prologue of the graphic novel script to add to my Script Writing page. So, for the next few weeks, in between regular blog posts (and some holiday wishes–what with the Holidays coming up and all), I’ll probably be doing a lot of gallery updates again. Since late April, I’ve been updating one or two of my website’s art galleries each month in an attempt to not only catch up on some of the artwork I’ve been meaning to post for quite some time, but also to update the galleries with larger (and thus more detailed and visually descriptive) thumbnail images. As of yesterday, jmdesantis.com is working to full capacity (after about a week of having problems due to issues on its hosting end). That means I was finally able to update the Miscellaneous Illustration gallery, as I’d planned to do last week. The update is somewhat small compared to many of the others that have been happening over the past few weeks. I was going to wait another week or two before I updated another art gallery. Instead, I intended to post information about some upcoming art shows I’m participating in and a small Boston Comic Con update (since it’s been rescheduled). However, I realised if I did that, I wouldn’t have an opportunity to update another of my art galleries until early-to-mid June! I couldn’t wait that long (and I’m sure you couldn’t either). The Fantasy Illustration section of jmdesantis.com saw a big update this week with new artwork and a slight format change. I had planned to post new art in most of the illustration sections after the Bronx Heroes Comic Convention (May 4th & 5th), but I was in need of something to post this week since the Boston Comic Con was cancelled this weekend past.
