Three Down, One to Go

J. M. DeSantis Events

I had a wonderful time at this past Saturday’s Inbeon Con. It was held in a great location (and I hope this continues for some time) and was well organised. Never mind that since my friend, Eric Hutchison, holds the con every year, it was great to see him and his family (including their new addition) as well as some other friends of mine who attended and exhibited at the show. Plus, these cons are helping me through the grief of my office buddy’s passing. They’re getting me out of the office while still allowing me to connect with my writing and art. It’s been an unexpected but welcome form of therapy in this difficult time (and thank you everyone who offered their condolences). Though perhaps what struck me most about this show (and the week leading up to it) is how many people have (sympathetically) approached me about my blog post about the previous week’s Newark Comic Con. East Coast ComiCon this Weekend

J. M. DeSantis East Coast ComiCon 2016

Just a brief reminder that not only is the Rosarium Publishing IndieGoGo campaign still going strong (indiegogo.com/projects/rosarium-publishing-the-next-level), but also that this weekend I’ll be exhibiting at the East Coast ComiCon for its second year in Secaucus, New Jersey (April 16th & 17th). So begins (officially) my convention season (though I did attend the Black Comic Book Festival in January with Rosarium Publishing) and so continues Rosarium Publishing’s campaign to raise money for printing and promotional costs for books such as the forthcoming first Chadhiyana trade (collecting issues 1 – 6 of the series). 2016 Convention Appearances Begin in One Month

J. M. DeSantis Event Annoucement

Last year, I had a very successful run of conventions. It was the first year in seven years of exhibiting that I success, and more, each convention I appeared at went better than the previous one. This year, I’m hoping to top last year, and it all begins with next month’s East Coast ComiCon (that is, if you don’t count January’s Black Comic Book Festival, where I appeared with Rosarium Publishing). Bronx Heroes – Thank You

Although my lack of social media posts on Saturday may have some thinking otherwise, this weekend’s Bronx Heroes: Women in Comics Convention was a lot of fun and a great success. Unfortunately, the area of the Bronx Library Center where the convention was held did not have good reception, so I couldn’t post about the many new Chadhiyana fans and others who dropped by my table to purchase prints, books and even my last copies of Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated! It seems to be a growing trend this past year or so, but of my three Bronx Heroes Conventions, this was by far the best yet. Read more… ›

East Coast ComiCon Reflections

Though it was something of a mixed experience, I enjoyed this past weekend’s East Coast ComiCon. As usual, I was able to introduce new people to my work–especially Chadhiyana–and see a few repeat customers, as well. Though more than that, it was nice to finally attend a convention so close to home, and (somewhat surprisingly) see so many of my peers and friends, many of whom are based out of New York and Long Island. Conventions are often the only chance I get to catch up properly with other creators, and as it is, I haven’t exhibited for about six months.  Read more… ›

East Coast ComiCon 2015 This Weekend

This weekend, I will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the East Coast ComiCon in Secaucus, New Jersey. Formerly known as the Asbury Park ComiCon, the convention will take place Saturday and Sunday (March 11th and 12th) at its new location: The Meadowlands Expo Center. Aside from having a new name and venue, this convention will be the first I’m attending a con in my native New Jersey, and it will be my first public appearance since the big announcement three weeks ago.  Read more… ›

Additional Updates

J. M. DeSantis Blog Post

Just a small update this week, folks. I’ve been rather busy the past few weeks, juggling a bunch of different things, and amongst them I’ve been making changes and adjustments to this site. Last week, the menu bar went through an update, and since then I’ve even updated it further. Nothing has been removed from the site that was formerly here, but if you can’t find a page, chances are it has been designated to the Miscellanea section (which will continue to contain everything which does not have its own heading).  Read more… ›

2015 Convention Schedule Begins in One Month

In just one month to the day, I will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the East Coast ComiCon at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. Interestingly, it will be the first show I’ve ever done in my native New Jersey. Typically I attend more shows in New York than anywhere else–though it is just across the water. What’s more, it’s just the first of a growing number of appearances for this year. Read more… ›
