The New Chadhiyana Painting and More Progress
This week’s blog entry will be the last Chadhiyana update for a week or two. Next weekend is the Baltimore Comic Con and, as usual, I’ll likely take the time to promote that event in my blog next week. However, at the moment, I’m happy to report I’ve completed the promotional Chadhiyana painting I starting working on two weeks ago, and I have a special preview of it for all of you.
As I mentioned in last week’s blog entry, this new painting is for the graphic novel and contains a number of the principal characters of that story (including Chadhiyana’s new outfit). That said, it will replace the original Chadhiyana painting (Goddess of Sand) on my display banner for conventions (likely starting with New York Comic Con this year). What’s more, I’m planning to make the piece available as an 11”x14” print come this Fall.
While working on the painting, I decided to continue working on the Chadhiyana graphic novel pages (rather than stopping one in favour of the other, as I originally planned), so some progress has been made. Though now with the painting completed, I’ll of course have more time to dedicate to pages again. Unfortunately, about the only thing I haven’t touched this week has been the script. This is the trouble with being both a writer and artist: the art sometimes can be so time consuming, it’s nearly impossible to find time to write besides. Whatever the case, I plan to focus on the script a bit more this coming weekend.
Anyway, that’s all for now. It’s three-thirty in the morning where I am (I just finished the new painting before I began typing this–the paint’s hardly dry on it) so I’m going to call it quits for the night. I hope you can understand. If you’re going to the Baltimore Comic Con next weekend, be sure to stop by my Artist Alley table. Otherwise, if you’re not in the area, I’m hoping to have some even bigger Chadhiyana news in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
