Upcoming Cons & a Happy 4th of July
Independence Day is just around the corner (well, State-side, that is), and so is my return to conventions. As I mentioned early in the year, I took the first half of the year off (from public appearances) to concentrate on my new teaching post, the classes I had to take to add a teaching certificate to my BFA and my graphic novel, Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows (posting weekly on chadhiyana.com). Now, summer is here, the graphic novel is moving smoothly and the Boston Comic Con is roughly one month away.
Of course, the Boston Comic Con is only the start (August 8 – 10, 2014). Baltimore Comic-Con will follow just a month later (September 5 – 7, 2014–though I may only make the 6th and 7th) and then in October, I’ll make my usual appearance at the New York Comic Con (9th – 12th). So far, those are the only shows I’ve officially lined up for this year, but that’s three big shows, three months in a row. I’m always tempted to add more shows to the mix, so please, if you know of any good ones, leave a suggestion in the comments section below. (I usually attend MoCCA Fest and Bronx Heroes Comic Con as well, though I had to skip them this year for the aforementioned reasons.)
Make sure you mark your calendars and catch up on reading Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows. (In fact, Chapter I of the comic should end the week of Boston Comic Con!) I’d love to discuss what people think about the graphic novel so far and answer any questions. Though, I’m not going to give away any upcoming plot points or spoilers–just a forewarning, before you ask.
As always, you can keep up with my shows and events on the Events & Shows page of this site (under the Miscellanea heading). I hope to see you at one of these conventions this year (or, perhaps, even the one you suggest). And, for my American fans, Happy 4th of July!
