Pet-icular Poses Group Art Show Next Month

Chadhiyana and Sagreembal First, thank you to everyone who came out to support the Paterson Art Walk this weekend past. It was my first time participating, and it was great to see so many people come out to appreciate some art. However, as I mentioned last week, the Paterson Art Walk is not the only chance to see my artwork live before the summer months. From June 7th through the 30th the Art Garage in Montclair, New Jersey will be holding their group gallery show, Pet-icular Poses. It will feature artwork depicting animals and mythological creatures by a variety of artists, including four pieces by yours truly (possibly five, if I can finish the last one in time). There will be a reception for the show on Friday, June 7th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Art Garage is located at 211 Glenridge Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042. For more information, visit the Art Garage’s site at studiokidsart.com.

Two Upcoming Art Shows and a Boston Comic Con Update

The Horror Beyond the DoorAs mentioned last week, I wanted to post an update on my status with regards to the rescheduled Boston Comic Con and some information on two upcoming art shows featuring my original artwork. First, I have five original pieces of art and some prints on display in the Paterson Art Walk in Paterson, New Jersey, this Saturday and Sunday (25th and 26th). My work will be in a room at the Art Factory’s 60 Spruce Street location with other artists associated with the Art Garage (a separate organisation from the Art Factory). You can find out more about this event on artfactory.us.com/artwalk.html. Read more… ›

A New Horror Web-Publication and Two More Gallery Updates

Book of LiesI was going to wait another week or two before I updated another art gallery. Instead, I intended to post information about some upcoming art shows I’m participating in and a small Boston Comic Con update (since it’s been rescheduled). However, I realised if I did that, I wouldn’t have an opportunity to update another of my art galleries until early-to-mid June! I couldn’t wait that long (and I’m sure you couldn’t either). So, not only have I updated two art galleries this week, but I also have some information about (and a link to) a new horror web-publication I’ve illustrated. Read more… ›

Interview with SugarCayne.com

I always enjoy doing interviews, especially at conventions. They’re usually quick, on-the-spot and taped (there’s an archaism for you), so you have to think fast. I feel I’m decent at them, though honestly, I think I could work on my delivery a bit (that camera can make you a little too self-conscious sometimes). Interviews are a great way to get exposure and to talk about your work. That said, check out this recent interview I did with SugarCayne.com at the Bronx Heroes Comic Con this past weekend. It was fun to do, so thank you SugarCayne.com for taking the time to interview me.

Thank You – Bronx Heroes Comic Con 5

As I usually do after every convention, I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who came down to the Bronx Heroes Comic Con this past weekend and showed their support. It’s always great to meet fans, introduce new people to my work, and just talk comics and the craft. I’m glad so many people were responsive to Chadhiyana and enjoyed the comic. (I even had one woman read it immediately after she bought it and say she loved it! It’s always wonderful to get that kind of reaction.) Always a pleasure doing this show hosted by the incomparable (friend of mine), Ray Felix. Now to get back to work on that Chadhiyana graphic novel.

J. M. DeSantis at the Bronx Heroes Comic Con 5 this Weekend

Returning for the second year in a row, J. M. DeSantis will be exhibiting at the Bronx Heroes Comic Con, held at the Bronx Library Center in New York City, this Saturday and Sunday. This is an exciting year for Bronx Heroes as this is the first time the convention will be extended over a two-day period (up from one day). So make sure you take the time to drop by and check out the amazing talent showcasing their work at the show. Oh, and don’t forget to visit J. M.’s table while you’re at it.
