It’s September 8th and you know what that means: it’s exactly one month to the day before the start of the 2015 New York Comic Con! It’s also six days and some odd hours before extended ticket mailing for the show closes. The summer is coming to an end, and for me, that means returning to my teaching job. There’s a lot I need to have place for my work output to be a well-oiled machine when school starts, plus there’s so little of the time off left to enjoy. Those things considered, I’ve decided to take a little social media and (possible) blog break (some of you may have noticed I didn’t post on Monday or Tuesday). I’m not sure for exactly how long I’ll be taking this break (I may very well be back before school starts on September 8th, but no later than then), but I’ll be hard at work behind the scenes the whole while. If you don’t follow me on social media (then you should be!), you probably missed two big announcements in the past couple of weeks. First and foremost, the first issue of my graphic novel series, Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, has been given the tentative release date of July 13, 2015 by Rosarium Publishing (pending no delays). As written in the past, the publisher opted to release the book digitally first in single issues. You’ll be able to find them on Comixology every other month (and–fingers crossed–Amazon?). I know it’s a bit of a wait, but really it’s just around the corner. That said, the book was also recently reviewed, for the first time, by Colored Books for Colored Folks. In just one month to the day, I will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the East Coast ComiCon at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. Interestingly, it will be the first show I’ve ever done in my native New Jersey. Typically I attend more shows in New York than anywhere else–though it is just across the water.
