The New York Comic Con is just two weeks away (I know, it seems early to me this year too). Amidst a busy schedule, I’ve been trying to get a number of things ready for the biggest show I do all year (and usually the one I end the year on–though next year I’m debating changing that a bit by adding some new shows). Already I had a few things planned, but my experiences in Boston and Baltimore this year got me thinking about a few additional things I want to add to that already extensive list of projects. If you follow me on social media or subscribe to my mailing list, you are already in the know: Chadhiyana #3 is now available through comiXology (from Rosarium Publishing). With the release date originally projected for today through Tuesday, this was a bit of a surprise. In fact, the book was released two days ago on the site. ComiXology has had a habit of releasing these issues a few days early, and as I’m quickly learning and someone privately quipped to me yesterday, release dates don’t seem to mean much. That’s quite all right with me; this is not a complaint by any means! After all, I’d rather a book come out early than late. Read more… ›
Strange things happen and people die as the witch has appeared to escape. Now, the Tal-Ifatiir order is terrified, and they are starting to blame Chadhiyana for all their supernatural misfortunes. ~ From Rosarium Publishing
Sorry. I know I already posted the above blurb from my publisher when I originally wrote my blog piece on the Chadhiyana #3 release date, but I just really love that quote. I know I’m a little biased, but if this book weren’t my own, that synopsis would certainly get me to buy this issue. That said, for those of you who do not have a NetGalley account, the wait is nearly over to read what the publisher teases above. Chadhiyana #3 will release within the week. Read more… ›
I’ve only been off from writing my blog for a week, and yet it feels like forever. So please excuse me as I write off some of the rust. Though I’ve been writing every day, I’m suddenly stumped with the prospect of having to write a blog piece. So things may move in a sort of stream-of-consciousness sort of way. But, after all, that’s the benefits of writing a blog. It doesn’t have to be about anything really (though, the best blogs are about something). Read more… ›
Today is the last day on which comiXology.com is offering Chadhiyana #1 for free (use the promo code chadpod at checkout: comixology.com/Chadhiyana-1/digital-comic/239164). It’s also the official release date for Chadhiyana #2, even though comiXology listed the comic a full week early as part of the promotion. Both issues have been getting some good reviews, so if you haven’t given my medieval Indian fantasy series a try yet, now is your (last) chance to try issue 1 for free. Read more… ›
The Chadhiyana #2 release date is fast approaching–only five days hence–and yet, there’s no reason to wait a minute longer, because comiXology released the book yesterday! But that’s not all! They also gave Chadhiyana another mention in their podcast (The comiXologist), Sequential Tart gave issue 2 a 10/10 review, and I have an forthcoming interview with them. More, comiXology is offering issue 1 for free for a limited time! Read more… ›
It’s been over a year since I updated the art samples on this website. I know that seems like an awfully long time, especially considering how much I’ve grown as an artist in the past year, let alone the past two or three (some of the samples were and are older than that). Even though my focus has turned more toward my writing and my own projects, I thought it was time to give the art section a bit of an update. Read more… ›
Just a friendly reminder of some important dates coming up in the next month. First, if you haven’t joined the mailing list yet, there’s still time to do so before the first newsletter goes out (either tomorrow or Thursday, the 30th or the 1st, respectively). It’s (I hope) going to be a great way to keep on top of not only this blog, but release dates, developments and other such things related to me and my work (there’s a form to join the mailing list at the bottom of this post). I’m sure there are many of you who have been waiting for this. And what with a two week break from social media and posts about a mailing list at the end of the month, the anticipation has probably been mounting. That said, I do want to prepare some of you for a little disappointment, but I promise you issue 2 is coming and there’s a reason why it won’t be exactly when you (I assume) or I were expecting. Plus, I’m going to give you a preview of the amazing painted cover by yours truly. Read more… ›
The summer is coming to an end, and for me, that means returning to my teaching job. There’s a lot I need to have place for my work output to be a well-oiled machine when school starts, plus there’s so little of the time off left to enjoy. Those things considered, I’ve decided to take a little social media and (possible) blog break (some of you may have noticed I didn’t post on Monday or Tuesday). I’m not sure for exactly how long I’ll be taking this break (I may very well be back before school starts on September 8th, but no later than then), but I’ll be hard at work behind the scenes the whole while. That said, even though I’ll be fairly quiet for a bit, there are a couple of things you can check out during the silence. Read more… ›
