Almost Forgot, So…an Update

I hate to write a blog post like this–quick, on the spur of the moment, and brief–but unfortunately, that’s what today calls for, because I honestly forgot what day it was. (Embarrassing, I know.) (Read more…)

This winter, Peter Jackson released the final part of his Hobbit film trilogy. So far as I can tell, the films have been well received, though I have not felt the same level of hype around this Middle Earth film trilogy as was associated with The Lord of the Rings films. Of course, this could be a personal bias, as frankly, I was disappointed with the entire Hobbit journey, there and back again. (Read more…)

Happy New Year again. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a proper post or posted a page of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows (on chadhiyana.com). For readers of that web-comic graphic novel of mine, as I’ve written about in the last couple of posts on chadhiyana.com, rest assured I have not stopped working on the comic. Quite the contrary. I have a big announcement planned for this month, and as such, it was decided that I should stop posting pages with the end of Chapter II (page 72). In fact, it’s quickly becoming possible that this forthcoming announcement may not be the only one I’m making this year. (Read more…)
Sure, the official day to wish everyone a Happy New Year is on New Year’s Day (January 1st–for those who follow the Roman calendar), but alas the day for new blog posts on jmdesantis.com has been Wednesdays for so long, I didn’t want anyone to call foul on me for not posting today. So, Happy New Year to all! As I said last year, let’s make it a great one, and hit the ground running with those New Year’s resolutions. My resolutions this year are to take better care of myself, be even more productive creatively, and to make more quality time for the people in my life. It’ll be a tall, but necessary, order, but I’m up to the task. What’s your New Year’s resolution? (Share in the comments section below.)
It’s Christmas Eve (for those who celebrate the holiday), and so, as is typical of me the week of Christmas (which I myself celebrate) I wanted to take the time to wish you all a very Happy Holiday (whichever you celebrate)! I hope you all enjoy this time of celebration and reflection, and find (or have found) some joy this holiday season. Again, I will return to blogging in the New Year, and hopefully (as stated in last week’s post), I’ll have some big news!
Happy Holidays!

With the holidays coming up, I’ll be taking things a little slow for the next two weeks. For those following my Handlebar Moustache Guide, I’ll be back with the next installment in the New Year. At least I got as far as posting how to curl your moustache, but there are a few other subjects to be covered yet before the guide is complete. In the meanwhile, I’ll be enjoying the holidays and preparing for next year, as there are (I hope and all but expect) some big things coming in 2015. But before we get to that, here’s a look back at 2014. (Read more…)

Another week and another installment of my Handlebar Moustache Guide. Supplies have been thoroughly written about. Hair growth (and patience) has been covered. I’ve even touched upon grooming. And now this week we finally come to that most coveted secret of having a handlebar moustache… (Read more…)

Well, we’re back again this week with yet another installment of my Handlebar Moustache Guide. This week features a slightly smaller section of the guide (covering grooming), but that’s only because the next section (the much awaited curling section) was too large to be paired with this one. And who knows? The curling section may even have to be broken up into two separate posts. As I’ve said, this guide just keeps getting longer and longer as I go. Likely now, with the end of the year holidays coming up and my penchant to write a year’s end reflection post, I may not even finish posting it by the end of 2014. But at least I’ll have no shortage of subjects to blog about for a while…or subject, that is. (Read more…)
For those of you who have been reading my Handlebar Moustache Guide, don’t worry. Next week I will post part three (which will finally get into specifics on maintaining and styling your moustache). This week, however, I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. If you don’t celebrate the holiday, I do apologise. By way of consolation, I will add that there are a number of things I’m working on behind the scenes which I am hoping will pan out for next year. (Read more…)

As promised, so it will continue until I have covered the subject extensively (within reason, that is). As I wrote last week, this guide grew and grew as I began writing what was intended to be a single, brief blog post about growing, maintaining and styling a handlebar moustache. I’m still writing this guide even as of this blog post (I’m now around 3,000 words and counting), and so I haven’t the faintest idea how many parts the guide will be split into or for how long I’ll be publishing this guide on my blog. Considering its already unpredictable size, I suspect it will be some weeks still before the final part is published. Indeed, it’s quite possible this guide will take up the remainder of my blog posts for the year! No matter. I’m having a blast writing this thing, and I hope you’re enjoying reading it, as well (and getting some useful information at the same time). So without further adieu, I give you part two of my Handlebar Moustache Guide. (Read more…)
