Shop J. M. DeSantis this Season

Although I feel a tad awkward writing about shopping after last week’s post, my original intention had been to start promoting my online store again toward the end of October. Unfortunately, the election overshadowed that initiative (even in within myself). However, with the Holiday Shopping Season about to begin (with Black Friday being this Friday and Cyber Monday this Monday), there’s no time like the present to let you all know what I’m offering through my growing online store. And honestly, though I have no intention of abandoning last week’s stance, it is healthy to take a break from all the negativity out there right now, and what better way than to buy something for yourself or a loved one and help support a talented individual, such as myself, in the process? 13 Days to Halloween

J. M. DeSantis - Blog Post

It’s officially thirteen days until Halloween, and though that means the holiday falls on a Monday this year (as this blog posts on Tuesdays), I plan to enjoy Halloween in every way possible. I have my usual stock of horror flicks, I always indulge in reading some horror fiction (though that’s not to say I reserve all horror-related reading and viewing for October exclusively), and hopefully I’ll get out to a haunted walkthrough or two. And in the spirit of the season I’m trying to make the latest of my horror-related art available through my online stores. Read more… ›

See You at NYCC Booth 1259

J. M. DeSantis NYCC Booth 1259

New York Comic Con is already upon us and as I’ve said, it seemed to creep up so fast this year. I have a number of new prints ready for this weekend, including new, Cthulhu, Nosferatu and Alice in Wonderland pieces, and my first attempt at a superhero print (a Deadpool and James Bond mash-up, as it were). More, the first collection of Gentleman Cthulhu comics is in-hand. I’ll be on the show floor again this year, at the same booth number: 1259 (not in Artist Alley)! And since last year was such a success, I’m hoping to at least match it this year. Read more… ›

See You Next Year, Boston!

J. M. DeSantis Boston Comic Con 2016-2017 Newark Comic Con

Yes, as the title implies, I’ve already signed up for an Artist Alley table at next years’ Boston Comic Con. It’s honestly one of my favourite shows to do in my favourite city (I still think I’d like to move up this way someday). This year’s show was another success. I’ve sold out of a few things, and I don’t know that I’ll be able to restock on these items for this Saturday’s Newark Comic Con. (Sorry, though I still have plenty of prints and books available.). Though Aside from sales alone, there’s a lot more appeal to exhibiting at the Boston Comic Con. Read more… ›

New Designs and Products

J. M. DeSantis News

Sorry for the change in schedule this week, folks. I had to rearrange a few things to accommodate two Gentleman Cthulhu comics this week (gentlemancthulhu.com). But it also gave me an opportunity to upload a few new designs and products to both my Zazzle and Society6 stores. Again, because of time-constraints, and the newness of this business venture, I’m only using artwork and designs which I have previously created, but this week I’m offering a few new products and two designs which have never been available before, even as prints on my convention tables. The New J. M. DeSantis Store(s)

J. M. DeSantis News

Last week I teased that there were two new things coming from me starting this month, and as promised so I have delivered. After years of debating with myself about whether or not to take the plunge, I have finally opened an online store for print-on-demand merchandise. In fact, I opened two: one on Society6 and one on Zazzle. Read more… ›

New Banner Art Revealed

J. M. DeSantis Blog Post

About every two years I replace the image on the standing banner I bring to conventions. It all started with my original 2011 purchase which featured my painting Goddess of Sand–this was the very banner of which people kept asking about the Indian woman depicted and which prompted the creation of Chadhiyana. Chadhiyana, of course, has been featured on my banners ever since. If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ve seen shots of art work for my new banner as it came together. On Monday, I finished it and as promised, it’s time to show it off. Read more… ›

Happy Halloween & a NYCC Interview

Halloween is only two days away! Being my favourite of all the holidays and what with my birthday only two days following that, I usually take it easy the week of Halloween (the month of October, even). I watch horror movies, read horror fiction, work on a horror story of my own and create some new horror art–typically Nosferatu being the subject matter. Unfortunately, life and Chadhiyana are keeping me a little busy for that this year, but I am managing on some level to enjoy the month of October as I’d like. That said I’m (still) working on a horror comic story for Atlas Unleashed. And speaking of comics, one of the interviews I did at New York Comic Con was finally uploaded on YouTube. Read more… ›

New York Comic Con 2014 This Weekend

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning the biggest comic show on the East Coast kicks off with its Professional Day, and amongst the many publishers, distributors and individual creators setting up for the four day show will be yours truly. If you haven’t marked me down in your show planner yet, make sure you do. I will be exhibiting in the Small Press area at Booth 1259, and amongst my usual wares of prints, comics, books and convention sketches will be a couple of new items, including some great giveaways. New Print Available!

Getting my annual Halloween post in a little early (in case Sandy messes with my power). Another Nosferatu piece from me, this one meant to be something like a German Expressionist movie poster (such as the original film). It’s also available as a print at my deviantART store:
