Although I feel a tad awkward writing about shopping after last week’s post, my original intention had been to start promoting my online store again toward the end of October. Unfortunately, the election overshadowed that initiative (even in within myself). However, with the Holiday Shopping Season about to begin (with Black Friday being this Friday and Cyber Monday this Monday), there’s no time like the present to let you all know what I’m offering through my growing online store. And honestly, though I have no intention of abandoning last week’s stance, it is healthy to take a break from all the negativity out there right now, and what better way than to buy something for yourself or a loved one and help support a talented individual, such as myself, in the process? This has been a difficult post to write, perhaps the most difficult piece of writing I’ve ever had to do (thus I am posting it so much later in the week than I usually blog). It’s not so much because of the subject matter, but because there is so much I want to write and because of the constant sensation of tense anger I’ve experienced for a little over a week now. I feel compelled to write something, imperfect or incomplete though it may be and despite the fact that I’ve often remained silent on political issues in the past. Like so many others, I cannot stand idly by while I see and hear what is happening around the country since the presidential election, and in reality, for a long time before that. (Read more…)

It’s Election Day in the States, and this particular one is perhaps the most important I’ve seen in my relatively short life-time. So for my American fans I have one simple message for today:

GO VOTE!

It’s October 25th. Halloween is a little less than a week away, my birthday is a little more than a week away and the first Dark Souls III DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, is available today for all the travelers of Lothric to discover and explore (I’m a huge fan of the SoulsBorne games, if you didn’t know). That said, one can expect I’ll be immersed in otherwise idle occupations for the next week or so, but that’s not to say I won’t be working on at least a few things, here and there. (Read more…)

It’s officially thirteen days until Halloween, and though that means the holiday falls on a Monday this year (as this blog posts on Tuesdays), I plan to enjoy Halloween in every way possible. I have my usual stock of horror flicks, I always indulge in reading some horror fiction (though that’s not to say I reserve all horror-related reading and viewing for October exclusively), and hopefully I’ll get out to a haunted walkthrough or two. And in the spirit of the season I’m trying to make the latest of my horror-related art available through my online stores. (Read more…)

Yet another New York Comic Con has come and gone (my eighth appearance at the show, in fact!). I got some major feedback and compliments from some of my Chadhiyana fans (who are apparently more passionate about the series than I had previously known). Also, my latest publication, Gentleman Cthulhu: Year One (a collection of the first 52 comics from gentlemancthulhu.com) completely sold out by mid-day Saturday. The only downside was that on Sunday I began experiencing considerable stomach pains (likely my diverticulitis acting up, with which I was diagnosed about this time last year), but I did my best to smile through the pain, and I’m doing okay now after a day’s rest. New York Comic Con is already upon us and as I’ve said, it seemed to creep up so fast this year. I have a number of new prints ready for this weekend, including new, Cthulhu, Nosferatu and Alice in Wonderland pieces, and my first attempt at a superhero print (a Deadpool and James Bond mash-up, as it were). More, the first collection of Gentleman Cthulhu comics is in-hand. I’ll be on the show floor again this year, at the same booth number: 1259 (not in Artist Alley)! And since last year was such a success, I’m hoping to at least match it this year. (Read more…)

This is one of the most exciting times of the year for me. October is nearly here, and that’s big deal given Halloween is my favourite holiday and my birthday follows just two days after that. The New York Comic Con is just two weeks away (I know, it seems early to me this year too). Amidst a busy schedule, I’ve been trying to get a number of things ready for the biggest show I do all year (and usually the one I end the year on–though next year I’m debating changing that a bit by adding some new shows). Already I had a few things planned, but my experiences in Boston and Baltimore this year got me thinking about a few additional things I want to add to that already extensive list of projects.
