More Chadhiyana #3

Chadhiyana News

Chadhiyana #4 has already been submitted to the publisher (Rosarium Publishing, that is) and it promises to be an intense, albeit short, issue. As much as I’d love to write more about it at this point, I’ll save that for the official release-date announcement. In the meanwhile, though it’s been available for a little over a month now, Chadhiyana #3 has still been getting some attention and is available on yet another one of Rosarium Publishing’s online distributor sites.  Read more… ›

Chadhiyana #3 is Now Available

Chadhiyana #3 Now Available

If you follow me on social media or subscribe to my mailing list, you are already in the know: Chadhiyana #3 is now available through comiXology (from Rosarium Publishing). With the release date originally projected for today through Tuesday, this was a bit of a surprise. In fact, the book was released two days ago on the site. ComiXology has had a habit of releasing these issues a few days early, and as I’m quickly learning and someone privately quipped to me yesterday, release dates don’t seem to mean much. That’s quite all right with me; this is not a complaint by any means! After all, I’d rather a book come out early than late. Read more… ›

The Wait is Nearly Over

Chadhiyana #3 news

Strange things happen and people die as the witch has appeared to escape. Now, the Tal-Ifatiir order is terrified, and they are starting to blame Chadhiyana for all their supernatural misfortunes. ~ From Rosarium Publishing

Sorry. I know I already posted the above blurb from my publisher when I originally wrote my blog piece on the Chadhiyana #3 release date, but I just really love that quote. I know I’m a little biased, but if this book weren’t my own, that synopsis would certainly get me to buy this issue. That said, for those of you who do not have a NetGalley account, the wait is nearly over to read what the publisher teases above. Chadhiyana #3 will release within the week.  Read more… ›

Update on Chadhiyana #3

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

The end of the year is fast approaching, and typically the last three weeks are planned out for an end-of-year reflection post, a Happy Holidays post, and a Happy New Years post (in that order). So that leaves this week as the last week of the year for any topic I choose, and I haven’t put out any information on the state or release of Chadhiyana #3. I don’t have any official news yet, but I will give you all a bit of something, rather than remaining silent until the first full week in January. Read more… ›

Back Again

J. M. DeSantis Blog Post

I’ve only been off from writing my blog for a week, and yet it feels like forever. So please excuse me as I write off some of the rust. Though I’ve been writing every day, I’m suddenly stumped with the prospect of having to write a blog piece. So things may move in a sort of stream-of-consciousness sort of way. But, after all, that’s the benefits of writing a blog. It doesn’t have to be about anything really (though, the best blogs are about something). Read more… ›

The Official Chadhiyana #2 Release Date

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

I’m sure there are many of you who have been waiting for this. And what with a two week break from social media and posts about a mailing list at the end of the month, the anticipation has probably been mounting. That said, I do want to prepare some of you for a little disappointment, but I promise you issue 2 is coming and there’s a reason why it won’t be exactly when you (I assume) or I were expecting. Plus, I’m going to give you a preview of the amazing painted cover by yours truly. Read more… ›

Thank You, Inbeon Con!

J. M. DeSantis Spiderman sketch coverIt’s been a summer of conventions (compared to what I’m used to): three in a row, in three different states. With Inbeon Con: Summer Edition this past weekend, my public appearances have ended until the New York Comic Con in October (though I am debating adding another show or two onto my schedule, before the end of the year). That said, Inbeon Con was a spectacular event, and I’m very glad my friend Eric Hutchison (owner of Inbeon Studios and host of the event) convinced me to do it.

Like a lot of shows I’ve been doing this year, Inbeon Con was much smaller than shows like New York Comic Con (well, really, what show isn’t smaller than NYCC?) or even Boston Comic Con. Though, I’m finding sometimes the smaller shows turn out to be a bigger success than the larger ones, especially one day shows as they tend to be the most intimate between the attendees and the exhibitors and there’s less competition at the show. Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

The wait is finally over! It’s time to celebrate! Today is the official release date for issue one of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows!

Of course, if you follow this blog and my social media posts, you know that the book has been out for ten days already (on IndyPlanet.com and Amazon.com). Hopefully you’ve already purchased, read and enjoyed it. If you haven’t, today’s blog post is especially for you. Read more… ›

Just One Week Away

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

This week and next week, my blog posts are coming a bit early (I usually post new blogs on Wednesday on jmdesantis.com and Tuesday on chadhiyana.com–though the latter may officially change), as next Monday, July 13th, is the “scheduled” release date for issue one of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows. I put scheduled in quotations, because if you’ve been keeping up with the recent Chadhiyana news, you know that my publisher (Rosarium Publishing) is actually ahead of schedule with the book’s release. First Chadhiyana Review and Release Date

Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows News

If you don’t follow me on social media (then you should be!), you probably missed two big announcements in the past couple of weeks. First and foremost, the first issue of my graphic novel series, Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, has been given the tentative release date of July 13, 2015 by Rosarium Publishing (pending no delays). As written in the past, the publisher opted to release the book digitally first in single issues. You’ll be able to find them on Comixology every other month (and–fingers crossed–Amazon?). I know it’s a bit of a wait, but really it’s just around the corner. That said, the book was also recently reviewed, for the first time, by Colored Books for Colored Folks. Honestly, if nothing I’ve said in the past has sold you on it, I think this review will. Read more… ›
