A Convention I Will Definitely Do Again

This past weekend, I exhibited at the White Plains Comic Con for its first of hopefully many years. The convention was organised by Nancy Silberkleit of Archie Comics and had strong support from the City of White Plains. The upper floor of the White Plains Library (where the convention was held) was packed with people for a good portion of the day, and even the mayor of White Plains (Thomas Roach) came down to meet all of the artists and vendors. I have to honestly say, of all the conventions I have been to, this one seemed to have the largest outpouring of support for those who were exhibiting at the show. At least I hope that was everyone’s experience, because my experience was wonderful.  Read more… ›

White Plains Comic Con this Saturday

After a little indecisiveness (on my part), it has been officially confirmed that I will be exhibiting at the White Plains Comic Con this Saturday. This is the first year for the show, which is being held at the White Plains Library in White Plains, New York. Though I know nothing of the venue, I have high hopes it is going to be a success, especially after my last show (Bronx Heroes: Women in Comics Convention). Read more… ›

Bronx Heroes – Thank You

Although my lack of social media posts on Saturday may have some thinking otherwise, this weekend’s Bronx Heroes: Women in Comics Convention was a lot of fun and a great success. Unfortunately, the area of the Bronx Library Center where the convention was held did not have good reception, so I couldn’t post about the many new Chadhiyana fans and others who dropped by my table to purchase prints, books and even my last copies of Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated! It seems to be a growing trend this past year or so, but of my three Bronx Heroes Conventions, this was by far the best yet. Read more… ›

East Coast ComiCon Reflections

Though it was something of a mixed experience, I enjoyed this past weekend’s East Coast ComiCon. As usual, I was able to introduce new people to my work–especially Chadhiyana–and see a few repeat customers, as well. Though more than that, it was nice to finally attend a convention so close to home, and (somewhat surprisingly) see so many of my peers and friends, many of whom are based out of New York and Long Island. Conventions are often the only chance I get to catch up properly with other creators, and as it is, I haven’t exhibited for about six months.  Read more… ›

East Coast ComiCon 2015 This Weekend

This weekend, I will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the East Coast ComiCon in Secaucus, New Jersey. Formerly known as the Asbury Park ComiCon, the convention will take place Saturday and Sunday (March 11th and 12th) at its new location: The Meadowlands Expo Center. Aside from having a new name and venue, this convention will be the first I’m attending a con in my native New Jersey, and it will be my first public appearance since the big announcement three weeks ago.  Read more… ›

2015 Convention Schedule Begins in One Month

In just one month to the day, I will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the East Coast ComiCon at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. Interestingly, it will be the first show I’ve ever done in my native New Jersey. Typically I attend more shows in New York than anywhere else–though it is just across the water. What’s more, it’s just the first of a growing number of appearances for this year. Read more… ›

A Relaxing Sort of Show

As much as I love exhibiting at conventions and meeting new and old fans and industry professionals, conventions are exhausting. Loading everything in and out of the show, the hustle of promoting and selling, giving one Chadhiyana pitch after another so that I feel like a broken record, even though the person in front of me is hearing it for the first time. It takes its toll after a few days have passed, and I always feel ready to sleep for days at the close of the show. (Again, don’t mistake me, I love doing conventions.) However, this past weekend I got to experience something a little different than the typical mix of stress and exhilaration of a large comic convention: the Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival. Read more… ›

NYCC 2014 Thanks & The Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival

Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival 2014
There are two things I want to cover this week. First, a huge thank you to everyone who came by my booth this past weekend during the New York Comic Con, and for helping me make this a successful show. Second, I want to remind everyone that this weekend is the Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival in New York City. So, without wasting too much space writing about writing about it, let’s get down to the details. (Scroll toward the bottom of this post for information on the Crazy 8 event.) Read more… ›

New York Comic Con 2014 This Weekend

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning the biggest comic show on the East Coast kicks off with its Professional Day, and amongst the many publishers, distributors and individual creators setting up for the four day show will be yours truly. If you haven’t marked me down in your show planner yet, make sure you do. I will be exhibiting in the Small Press area at Booth 1259, and amongst my usual wares of prints, comics, books and convention sketches will be a couple of new items, including some great giveaways. The Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival is Two Weeks Away

Crazy_8_Cartoon_Festival_2014New York Comic Con is just one week away, and yet it’s only the first of two New York shows I’ll be doing, back-to-back, this month. On Saturday, October 18th (the very weekend following New York Comic Con), I will be exhibiting at the Marlton Hotel (5 West 8th Street) for the Crazy 8 Cartoon Festival. Read more… ›
