I wouldn’t say that Wednesday blog postings are the new trend (as Tuesday had always been the day ever since Gentleman Cthulhu took Wednesday; and while I’m on that, there’s a new comic up today: gentlemancthulhu.com), but with everything I’m juggling at the moment, I have to admit that the blog is a slightly lower priority at present. Still, I wanted to take a moment to mention (again) the number of things coming up to keep your eye out for (or get involved in). Read more… ›

For a long time now I’ve been talking about, debating and even writing about starting up a Patreon page. To be perfectly honest, I’ve been working on one for a while now (and have mentioned it a few times on this blog), but I’m beginning to tire of simply working on it and not putting the plan into full action. At this point nearly everything is complete for the page, and so I’m making the official announcement now that my Patreon page will launch on March 1, 2017. Read more… ›

In the past month I’ve spend a decent amount of time (on my blog on jmdesantis.com) highlighting my online store (through Zazzle.com) though I haven’t taken the time to highlight the fact that more than one third of the roughly 100 items available on the store feature artwork from Gentleman Cthulhu–including three designs featuring the tentacled gentleman himself. More, as promised, Gentleman Cthulhu: Year One (the collection of the first year of GC comics which sold out at this year’s New York Comic Con) is finally going to be available to order online! It’s Cyber Monday, and even though I had written about my online store last week, there really isn’t a better day of the year to promote an online store than today! Especially since Zazzle is offering even bigger discounts today with the code CYBERMONSAVE at checkout. So if you’re interested, checkout my store at zazzle.com/jmdesantis. But if you’re still not convinced, or if you’re a Chadhiyana fan, read on. I have a surprise for you.
Although I feel a tad awkward writing about shopping after last week’s post, my original intention had been to start promoting my online store again toward the end of October. Unfortunately, the election overshadowed that initiative (even in within myself). However, with the Holiday Shopping Season about to begin (with Black Friday being this Friday and Cyber Monday this Monday), there’s no time like the present to let you all know what I’m offering through my growing online store. And honestly, though I have no intention of abandoning last week’s stance, it is healthy to take a break from all the negativity out there right now, and what better way than to buy something for yourself or a loved one and help support a talented individual, such as myself, in the process? It’s officially thirteen days until Halloween, and though that means the holiday falls on a Monday this year (as this blog posts on Tuesdays), I plan to enjoy Halloween in every way possible. I have my usual stock of horror flicks, I always indulge in reading some horror fiction (though that’s not to say I reserve all horror-related reading and viewing for October exclusively), and hopefully I’ll get out to a haunted walkthrough or two. And in the spirit of the season I’m trying to make the latest of my horror-related art available through my online stores. Read more… ›

Sorry for the change in schedule this week, folks. I had to rearrange a few things to accommodate two Gentleman Cthulhu comics this week (gentlemancthulhu.com). But it also gave me an opportunity to upload a few new designs and products to both my Zazzle and Society6 stores. Again, because of time-constraints, and the newness of this business venture, I’m only using artwork and designs which I have previously created, but this week I’m offering a few new products and two designs which have never been available before, even as prints on my convention tables. Last week I teased that there were two new things coming from me starting this month, and as promised so I have delivered. After years of debating with myself about whether or not to take the plunge, I have finally opened an online store for print-on-demand merchandise. In fact, I opened two: one on Society6 and one on Zazzle. Read more… ›

Typically in the winter months I hibernate to some extent. Besides taking the time to enjoy the Holidays and my family and friends, I take a break from public appearances and concentrate on working in my studio exclusively; it’s just such a hectic time of the year. This year, however, I wanted to try something different. No, I won’t be attending any more conventions until 2016 (which is also just around the corner), but I am going to offer something that you can only get from me at conventions: commissions! This Saturday and Sunday I will be appearing in Artist Alley at Eternal Con for the first time ever! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this show, so hopefully the long (long) commute to Long Island will be worth it for me. It’s been a great convention season so far, and I’m only halfway through. I’m hoping for yet another successful show–especially with the replenished stock (since I was nearly cleaned out in White Plains) and the brand new items I’ll have on the table this weekend.
